Milei Defends Multi-Million Dollar English Training Contract

Amidst the major political controversy over the multi-million dollar contract awarded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the Argentine Association of English Culture (AACI), President Javier Milei decided to intervene publicly to defend the transparency of the procurement. The entity, led by the wife of Minister Federico Sturzenegger, was directly awarded a contract for $114,044,133 to provide in-person classes to 132 employees and diplomats. True to his style, the head of state did not use official communications from the Casa Rosada, but rather reposted a comment published by Chancellor Pablo Quirno on his X social media account. In the message that the President chose to share and endorse to his millions of followers, Quirno stated: 'There is absolutely no irregularity, quite the opposite!' He also mentioned that the intervention of the Office of Anticorruption and SIGEN confirmed the legality of the process, despite the family ties.
